Gravitate North East

Planning and approvals

The Community Asset Transfer process does not grant planning permission. They are two separate processes.

What has been applied for

A Community Asset Transfer is a Scottish legislative process that allows community bodies to request the management or lease of public assets. Gravitate North East has requested a lease over the car park area, the trail areas and related visitor infrastructure. It has not applied for ownership of Pitfichie Hill.

What planning will assess

Even if the lease were agreed, the facilities could not be built without planning permission. Planning matters are assessed separately, including:

  • Traffic
  • Drainage
  • Ecology
  • Construction methods
  • Environmental impact
  • Infrastructure
